This is an artists rendition of the Church of the Holy Sepulcher and the cardo which transgressed Jerusalem from left to right.  To the east of the city is the Mt of Olives.  Between the city and the Mt of Olives is the destroyed temple mount upon which the Temple of Herod once stood.
